My GSD is surprisingly gentle with his toys, which is unexpected given his rather rambunctious attitude towards play time. I won't be able to say how this toy would hold up against aggressive chewers or dogs of destructive natures since all mine wants to do is squeak the toy all day long. Though given it is a soft toy, I do not think it would hold up if your dog tends to shred and has done so in the past. Since mine does not, this is perfect for him. He will carry it around the house and my office; it keeps him entertained and for that I'm satisfied with this purchase.
I’m not surprised that some who bought this for powerful chewers were disappointed. I can see how a voracious chewer could dismember this guy in a heartbeat. But my six-pound Japanese Chin, whose tiny teeth are measured in millimeters, adores this toy. In fact, it’s second only to another monkey of unknown manufacture that accompanied a cheesy Mother’s Day gift from You-Know-Where. When he wants to play, I can say “Oh, go get your Monkey!” and off he goes.We have several of these and he likes them all. All are well made and entertaining. Choose wisely and you won’t be disappointed.
My dog loves her new monkey that arrived the several days ago; in fact she just can't let it out of her sight. She carries it everywhere that she goes, and just loves the little squeaker. It's not huge, but it has great long dangling arms and legs that are great for your dog to grab onto to carry around and toss up into the air! They love that kind of stuff, you know. A great plus with this that I always look for is the fact that there are no plastic eyes or other pieces that may come off that could present a choking hazard - everything here is sewn on cloth material. The only things that I removed/cut off were the tags. Other than that this monkey was ready to go! So far, with non-stop playing for several days, there is no wear on this at all and it seems to be holding up extremely well. The squeaker arrived working, and I love the fact that although they squeak loud enough to satisfy my dog, they are not overly loud which can get quite annoying as with some toys. Great buy
I've been buying these adorable little chirring monkeys for my friend's Pekingese since she was a puppy. She is not an aggressive dog, and falls asleep with her baby every night, and sucks on the fur while making kneading motions when she's resting. The chirring noise makes her so excited, so every year I buy her a new one when the voice box dies and she's started to wear a hole through the side.
I thought I’d wait a few months before I wrote this review as then I could give an honest view about how well this chew toy performed. This toy has lasted well with it being used and abused on a daily basis by my two boys. it has been in the middle of some heavy tug of war sessions between them both and as of yet not even a stitch has come undone. after being left outside for a few days It got stuck in the washing machine and was like new ready to be tested. I would say this has been one of the best toys I have purchased for my boys by far.
I bought this little monkey toy for my pup pokey, and she loves it. She carries it with her everywhere! It's durable too - she plays tug with it with me, and her best dog friend, and so far, it's alive!

Cutest toy, looks simple, the squeaker is working well
really good toy.
Our dog LOVES his Monkey! This is his second monkey since his first one which lasted approximately a year and a half. He has managed to rip off the arms and legs from the first one, so now he is on to his second one. If only the manufacturer could strengthen the arms and legs, it would be perfect.
The best toy I have purchased. We have an 11 month old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie). She's just been spay; Vet told us she'd never been in heat. It's 5 days & she's to be kept quiet. All her toys have been put up. She's looking for them, especially this toy, her favorite. She likes it best for fetch. She chews on it a lot. It's holding up true to its claim.
My dog just loves these little critters. Very durable and thick, yet light weight.
Cute and durable
Will def buy more once mine will be not in good shape
My dog does destroy all toys that are plush, just to rip out the stuffing and get to the golden squeaker center! But this is one thing that has still survived a YEAR LATER! It's almost like it's too precious for utter destruction.
Have had it for a few months, still hold its shape
Great quality for the price
Very cute, my 7 my old 20lb puppy loved it.
As soon as I took it out of the box, my puppy dog knew he wanted it. He loved it and didn’t part with it the whole night he got it.
Soft and durable
I had searched so long for an exact replacement for our little dog’s favorite monkey due to it getting worn out and I finally found this exact one. It's like his security toy!! It tolerates a lot of use by our little dog. The quality is great and the colors are so pretty.
Bought for my dog but kept it as a decorative element. Love the color!
There is no way Mr. Monkey hasn't been a hit. I have only one so far (amazingly) since November, and it remains intact somehow and yet well liked. It is that toy they will play with, share, watch over, sleep with, but choose not even to try to destroy. How can that be? So he isn't as active as others, but he is still appreciated. I think if dogs did get too aggressive with him he might not last very long (at least his extremities), though they may not be too difficult to reattach. It does crinkle a little, but not so much that I notice it unless I'm thinking about it. I think the draw is more the whole look of him, but that is just my take! I do my best not to play too much tug-o-war when they bring him to me.
I guess I had a toy from a bad batch as the toy was destroyed in 2 weeks by my not so aggressive puppy. Usually they last longer
Our dog loves Monkey, not the most durable for her (goes thru toys like nothing) but she loves this one and it makes her happy.
